How is Saudi Gratuity Calculated?
- For the first 5 years: Half month salary for each year of service
- After 5 years: Full month salary for each additional year
- Calculation base: Based on latest basic salary
Important Notes for Resignations:
- If you resign before 2 years, you get no gratuity
- If you resign between 2-5 years, you get one-third (1/3) of calculated gratuity
- If you resign between 5-10 years, you get two-thirds (2/3) of calculated gratuity
- If you resign after 10 years, you get full gratuity
- If terminated by employer, you get full gratuity regardless of years served (after 2 years)
Key Differences from UAE:
- Saudi gratuity is based on monthly salary, not daily wage
- Minimum service for gratuity is 2 years (vs 1 year in UAE)
- Full gratuity on resignation requires 10 years (vs never full in UAE for resignation)
