How is UAE Gratuity Calculated?
- For the first 5 years: 21 days of basic salary for each year
- After 5 years: 30 days of basic salary for each additional year
- Daily wage: Basic salary ÷ 30
- Maximum: 2 years of basic salary
Important Notes:
- Gratuity is calculated based on basic salary only, not total package
- If you resign before completing 1 year, you get no gratuity
- If you resign between 1-3 years on an unlimited contract, you get no gratuity
- If you resign between 3-5 years, you get one-third of the gratuity
- If you resign after 5 years on an unlimited contract, you get two-thirds of full gratuity
- If terminated by employer, you get full gratuity regardless of years served
